12.8V LITHIUM IRON PHOSPHATE BATTERIES: THE SAFEST AMONG TRADITIONAL LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES
A 12.8V battery is composed of 4 cells connected in series, the nominal voltage of an LFP cell is 3.2V. The charging voltage can vary from 14V to 16V (care must be taken that the voltage of no cell is higher than 4.2V).
An LFP battery is more expensive than a lead acid battery but its excellent efficiency, superior reliability and extended life will offset the high initial cost.
LFP-BMS models benefit from the Battery Management System (BMS) which allows cell balancing.
This battery management system is very comprehensive and guarantees you total assurance regarding your installation.
It prevents cell undervoltage by disconnecting the load just in time, it also prevents cell overvoltage by reducing the charging current or stopping the charging process, and is also able to shut down the system in case of overheating.
CHARGING AND DISCHARGING CONDITIONS
We all know the reliability of lithium batteries that allow them to hold a high charge and discharge current. However, on this model, It is strongly advised not to connect converters and MULTIPLUS greater than 375VA in order to save the battery as much as possible and extend its life.
